Mosaic Card

When I hear the term "mosaic" used in scrapbooking, a certain pattern comes to my mind... this is NOT that pattern! This is more of what I think
of as a "free-hand" tile design, which of course is also a type of 'mosaic'... hence the name! LOL!

Anyway.... Christina, from Card Making Magic, shows us how to make another one of her beautiful cards! This is truly a pretty type of card
base design, and would work great for most types of cards like wedding, anniversary, sympathy and girly-girly cards.

But I was thinking that with the right colors, these would even work for the guys! I first thought about the retired CTMH Lucky PP with copper or gold between.... but many of CTMH's new patterns would work as well. I think there are papers in some of the "girly" sets that are more gender neutral, and could be used for masculine cards!

Ya Ya Sister's Diet

My daughter sent this to me and that in itself is so AMAZING! She never... and I do mean NEVER, sends me what she deems "trivial" emails. :)
But this time, she said she "just had to" because it made her laugh so much! (I think it's because she is pregnant... with cravings! She has always watched her weight, working out everyday, and I know she doesn't want to gain too much with the baby!) But for whatever reasons it made her laugh, I'm happy she sent it, because it made me laugh, too:)

I hope you have a good chuckle, too!

Spectacular Clouds Over Mt Rainier!!

Someone sent me the following photos in an email today. They are so spectacular that I wanted to share them. They were taken from a Cessna by Scott Sistek.

THIS IS AWESOME, Enjoy - 14,411ft.

This is the information that was sent with them:

On Feb 3rd 2012...

Those of us NOT living in Tacoma, WA or surrounding areas, will appreciate these pictures…. take a look at some of these incredible clouds captured over Mt. Rainier!

Gig Harbor

Those are called "lenticular clouds". They're caused when the winds blow over Mt. Rainier in just the right way! The air gets pushed upward, where it cools and condenses into these clouds. Depending on the winds, you can get some amazing cloud formations !

Hybrid Flowers!

Limor, a design team member for I Am Roses, has a great tutorial on
two very different flowers she made with certain petal packs from I Am Roses. (The middle of the second one she makes reminds me of the cute button carnations Connie MacFarlane made.) I absolutely love the first flower she makes... ooo so pretty!

Now I guess I'll have to order some more flowers!

Salted Background

Sprinkle rock salt on inked background for a speckled look.... different coarseness will make different sized splotches and speckles. I wonder if regular table salt would do the same thing...hmmm!

This video is from SplitcoastStampers. Beate shows how to do this easy technique on glossy cardstock.

Let me know if you give it a try or have done it before. I would like to see your creations!
