I thought it was about time to bore you with more photos of our adorable baby granddaughter before our second grandchild arrives in October! 

The following photos were taken in a awesome photo shoot session to capture her at a year old. (photos were taken by Mary Pam Sizemore)

First up.... her being adorable, even with a runny nose (allergies).

Another Granddaughter Update!

Well I haven't posted any pictures of the grandbaby since she was 2 months old.... and she's 8 months old today! I can't believe how time seems to be flying by.

This first one was her first professional sitting at 6 months old, back in February. I get the impression she's going to be a "thinker"!

Here she is toward the end of last month.... such a cutie! I just want to reach out and give her lots of kisses on those adorable chubby cheeks!

And on one final note for today.... I thought I had already posted this, 
but looking back, I can't find it.... we found out almost a month ago now, that we'll be grandparents again!!! 
Our son and his wife are expecting their first in mid-October!

Won't know for awhile yet whether it's a boy or girl,

but either way we are excited for them!

Granddaughter UPDATE!!

Just had to share a couple of photos of the grandbaby :)

This first one was taken at 2 months old as she was ready to take a nap. I just love this one... her mom caught her with her eyes still open, not wide open, but enough to see how big and beautiful those eyes are going to be!

 

 

 

And this next one shows her in her first "car".... at only 11-1/2 weeks old!... Yep, that's right.... 10 days shy of 3 months old, and she has her first Jeep! LOL!

 

 

 

Her mom did put a rolled up towel behind her to tuck her in the seat of her new walker, but what amazes me is her head control.... she hasn't needed any support at all for weeks before this photo was taken! The doctor says she's very strong and advanced for her age, and I can see why! And of course, I already have her down as being a little genius, too, so we'll see!!

 

Thanks for letting me gush over this little preciousness! Can't wait to see her up close and in person again... hope that won't be too long, but it's already been 2 months since they were here :(.... time sure flys by....

Finally.......

           A close-up photo of that precious baby girl! (I've told both parents that I want 24 pictures a day, at least, but they are NOT cooperating! I think they've tuned me out, lol :(

But I had to share this latest one..... can you tell, I'll be obsessed with posting her photos? I'll try to curb my urges to do that, so I won't overwhelm the Blogger system!!! and you!!

New Mom and Baby Girl

Well, I promised "more later"... here she is!!!...

Our New Granddaughter

Born Monday August 13, 2012 - 4:31 PM

Weight - 8 lbs 7.5 ozs

Length - 22 inches ---21 inches (confirmed by pediatrician at checkup)

And just absolutely PERFECT!!!

and the next morning... sleeping on Mom!

She looks almost exactly like her mom did when she was born.

We can't wait to see her in person in about 3 weeks, when they come for our son's wedding! She'll get to meet this whole side of the family, which is extremely small and only consists of the two of us, her Uncle Josh and brand new Aunt Michelle, her Great-Aunt Melissa (my sister), her second-cousin Derek (my nephew and sister's son) and his fiance, Sandea, as well as my BFF and "adopted" Granny, Carol... she can't wait to get her hands on

You'll probably be seeing lots more of this little gal on here in the coming months, if I can get her momma to take pictures with a "real" camera, and not just on her phone, lol :)

It's Official!

We're finally GRANDPARENTS!!!... Avree Diane has arrived! :) ... More later...

We have had this teddy bear picture for almost 30 years! It hung in our baby girl's nursery. At that time, the 15"x28" frame and the thin beveled mat were a rosy pink!

As time went by, our daughter's room of course underwent several changes, but she always wanted to keep that picture. So, over the years, her sweet daddy repainted the frame to match her "new" decor. The last color before this update, was a navy blue!

It hung in her room, even while she was away at college! But just before starting her final year, my husband was transfered with his job, and we had to get packed for the move. Jen decided it was time to store it away
(but she still didn't want to get rid of it). It went in storage for about 6 months and then up to the attic of our new home, where it's resided for the last 7 years!

Well now our baby girl is having her own baby girl, and my hubby decided it was time to pass this treasure on to our new granddaughter, Avree.
So... he had to update the color of the frame once again.... this time to a pretty shade of raspberry pink to match the "new" nursery.

There was just one BIG problem..... that rosy-pink thin beveled mat had turned to a horrible shade of brown! Oh what was I to do? It didn't match at all..... Well, I first carefully took apart the layered mats to reveal the color it used to be. Then I got out my CTMH ink pads and finger daubers, and proceeded to find a solution.... I thought I'd be able to get it back to some shade of pink that would look okay, but nothing even came close!

I was stumped! So it sat for several weeks in my scrapbook room. I had to walk past it with "blinders on", to avoid seeing my failure! LOL! The only thing I did know, was that my hubby wanted me to add Avree's name to it. So I finally decided that I'd at least tackle that portion!

I decided on chipboard letters that were plain because they were the right size. I just had to "make them over" into something that would at least coordinate with that "new" pink frame.....
..... they say hindsight's 20/20, and it is!... I should have done ALL the renovations FIRST, and then let my dh deal with finding a paint to match 
my final masterpiece, instead of the other way around! Oh well, at least he got to avoid the headaches! Anyhoo....

On the letters, I used CTMH Pearl Paint and Reinkers to make the color.
After several trial colors.... mixing, blending, etc...... I finally came up with this, which believe it or not, has several colors mixed in, including BLACK!... Two coats later, with added 3 Bitty Sparkles on each and the letters were done!  Then it was back to just sitting there.... waiting for me..... !!!

A couple days ago, I finally had an epiphany!... I would cover the beveled mat... with what?.... with FOIL..... Viola! .... I couldn't wait to get started!
I was pleasantly surprised that as I covered it with foil, the foil ended up with a crinkled-look to it, which brought out the bling of the Bitty Sparkles even more! Then I just had to decided to add more bling flourishes, which I had on hand, for the final touch!

I sure hope Avree will love it as much as her mom did! And I hope her mom doesn't mind the changes that we made!!

It's a ----- GIRL !!!!

I'm so excited, I just had to share....

Our first Grandbaby is going to be a GIRL!!! YAY!!! Just what we were all hoping for (except the dad, of course, but he's happy!)

We just found out a little bit ago. Our daughter woke me up with the news! Such a nice way to start this beautiful day! :)

EXCITING DAY!....

Just wanted to share some exciting news!...

I heard our FIRST grandchild's heartbeat for the first time today! :)  Our daughter is due in August, but she lives 998 miles away! She emailed us a Wave Sound on Feb 27th, and since my hubby works long hours, I wanted to wait to be able to hear it with him this weekend when he's home....

Now I tried to wait until my hubby could listen with me, but
I failed miserably!! I could NOT wait any longer, so I listened (bad Grandma).... DEFINITELY an out of the ordinary day, week, month, year, etc. for me! I just cried and cried... happy tears!
