Ruffled Ribbon and Rose

Doesn't Christina make it look so easy to do? I just LOVE this! The satin rose she makes is gorgeous. I'm ready to try them with the other kinds of ribbon.... just have to get more of that super tacky tape! 

Spellbinder Rolled Blossoms

Christina, from Card Making Magic, really gets her money’s worth out of the Spellbinder’s Spiral Blossom dies! She makes 10 distinct-looking flowers, including a bud, from just 3 sets of dies!

If that weren’t enough, they look even more different with all the different centers she chooses, including stamen, pearls, and even the bud for a fuller rose.

She also demonstrates what to do with the cut spirals just prior to rolling them, to get the petals started in taking on their shape!

This video is a great tutorial with loads of ideas…. I’m glad I found it!

Butterfly Pansies

This is a video from a Stampin' Up consultant, Dawn Olchefske. She makes the cutest pansies from the SU Butterfly punch (that is no longer available), so if you have the punch already, then you're all set!.... If not, the 2 pieces could be cut by hand.

Either way, the "reinker spread" technique is great!

Card Ideas using a "Starter" Spellbinders Set

There are so many beautiful Spellbinder dies to choose from, that it's sometimes hard to know where to start!  So making an informed decision before you shop, and spend all your hard earned cash, would be quite helpful and possibly money-saving!

In this video, Christina from Card Making Magic, shows a really good starter set that will cover most of the things you want to do, from textured backgrounds to beautiful flowers. Ribbon Roses

Christina is working her "magic" again!... Here's a pretty easy way to make some interesting ribbon roses. I like that they're glued as you go along to hold everything in place, and no sewing or stitching is involved, lol :)

Limor, a design team member for I Am Roses, has a great tutorial on
two very different flowers she made with certain petal packs from I Am Roses. (The middle of the second one she makes reminds me of the cute button carnations Connie MacFarlane made.) I absolutely love the first flower she makes... ooo so pretty!

Easy Zipper Flowers

Linda Kaiser from the Paper Boutique, shows how to turn one-half of an 18" zipper into a really cute flower with it's own metal bling!
(So a yard of zipper will make 4 flowers)

Ooo-La-La!!... Fancy Paper Rosettes!

gorgeous paper accordian flower rosettes made by Beverly Tiemann!

Beverly used the Martha Stewart spider

On this Sonoma one , she used a Fiskars

rotary blade called Squiggle!

And on the Mischief, Beverly used a Fiskars

with Tim Holtz' sprocket gears and CTMH

spiral clip and brad!

Let's see... How many of those decorative scissors do I still have? I think I started with around 22 or 23 of them more than a decade ago! LOL! I know I've gotten rid of some over the years, but I still have probably half of them left. I wonder if I could make some rosettes as pretty as Beverly's?

I'm starting on my yearly Anniversary Cards (my fiscal year of Oct-Sep, lol) and I could definitely use these 'lovelies' for the embellishment! If I do, and they turn out OK, I'll post them!

Pretty Paper Roses - by Corina Mitchell

Corina is a CTMH consultant and she has a wonderful paper rose tutorial on her blog!
They are made with just three six-petalled paper flowers and are so easy to make.

No rolling is involved (which I can't do because that makes my hands cramp), so I can
actually make these beautiful, full roses. See her tutorial here .

Itty Bitty Paper Flowers

Lorinda from Atwater Moon shows us how to make some really cute itty bitty flowers
using a medium flower punch from EK Success Paper Shapers line! To me, they have
a vintage look about them.... they remind me of some little porcelain roses on top of a
charming trinket box I remember from my childhood. Lorinda also makes a darling
doily base for her itty bitty rose, using the Martha Stewart Doily Lace Trim Deep Edge
punch that is similar to an accordian flower, but much flatter!

Tracey Mason's Paper Roses!

These beautiful paper roses are just fabulous! Tracey makes this look so easy, but it does take a little practice. The end result is well worth the effort you put into making these. If using a patterned paper, make sure it's double sided or you'll need to color the 'white' side of the paper with ink, chalk, paint, etc., so it looks more realistic.

Make Your Own Hand Cut 8-Petal Paper Flowers

Here's Connie MacFarlane's tutorial on how to make several different 8-petal flowers..... again, it's all about the shape of the petal you cut PLUS this time, she shows us how different these pretty flowers look by how many layers you use ----  and even a "fringed" flower!
